installation problem..again

Post by stormdancer »

I downloaded the newest upgrade and am now unable to install it. I removed the old version. I get an error message that says,Account name is invalid or does not exist, or the password is invalid for the account name specified. The installation cancels. I had a terrible time getting the 7.6 upgrade installed, and now this one. What am i doing wrong?

'Tis a gift

Sounds like a problem with the W2000 user account rather than the program itself. Are you logged as Administrator or plain user? Latest OT version ask for Admin privileges for installation. Best.

Hi Stormdancer,

I see that you have written to the support address via the web form as well, so I will email you about this. If it turns out to be something that may affect other users I will post back on this thread too.

Cheers

Hi Storm, when you get the chance could you try again with the new beta 8.1 installation which I just uploaded? This installs the Service under a System Account rather than a Service Account. I am not too sure what the difference is, but a couple of articles I have read suggest this might be the solution. Fingers crossed.
