Not Into P2P?

Post by Dominatrix »

I can't understand why people is showing so little interest in the Orphalese share thing. It's a great resource for those interested in collecting Tarot decks, and Richard took a lot of effort for making it very, very easy to use. Why so much reticences? I know it's tricky to re-share all your decks with every new version of the P2P, but doing so is give a token of appreciation to all our community members. Richard knows that I hate to have Windows services not needed on my Winbox, but I agree it's the best way to make this work. Once all is set up, you don't need to open the program, just keep your connection and the Service will take care of everything. And someone in the other corner of the world will be happy getting a deck he or she wanted so much.

The faster you got used to this, the better. Sooner or later, this feature will be an integral part of the program. The old File exchange was a hit, but the situation created by some publishers calls for a new tool. That's all.

:o( I have just been really busy lately. I got the 1st version and then never did a thing with it. I will do my best to play around over the weekend. I think it just takes people a bit of time. I'm sure it will rock the house :o)

I wouldn't worry unduely.

Apparntly at the mo there are 11 people connected and 9 decks available.

And 7 of those are mine, if the fact that I can only see 2 in the list means 7 + 2 = 9

I think its more a matter of convincing people to share rather than use the app.

Well, I just checked in and I am seeing the same thing, which means there is a problem. For some reason the server program which manages the details of who is logged on is not recognising us. I will post back here as soon as I can figure out why.

There was a problem with one of the database scripts, but I think I have fixed it now, so once again you should be able to see the decks of everyone who is logged in.

Another guinea pig signed in.

Think it's a great idea, like much you do Richard :)

It worked nice, even if I had to search for missing deck.
It seems main program lost the link to Decks when installing P2P, but it was easy fixed by pointing to the folder.

So now my dear Orphalese users, use the oppertunity to get a great tool, show interest, attend :)

Good luck.

Yea....something odd is going on...I can see 16 users connected and 26 deck to share.

A question, shall those we share also pop up for us? if so my probe selection don't do so.

But I can see 26 are for share and 19 on display.

The hunt for the missing decks starts :)

I also get the full count of decks.
Twice I have tried to ask for info(magnifyglass)
Both times the program stay waiting for 30 sec or more, then I get the error message Unhandled exceptions and the program freez.

It might be because the owner aren't online..ar maybe not... when it just displayed 19 deck it was no such error when I asked for the same info.

Let me also point out that F2 don't work in my main program, you have to rightclick and choose the zone :)
