Hi everyone! Thanks for the warm welcome and response to my previous post. I have really been enjoying playing with the propram and learning all the nice features.
I like the option to make my background disappear and have my cards floating all around. But, one time I made the mistake of putting the main, dealer deck u click to get commands- I made that card disappear into the invisible little gray square and couldnt figure out where it was or how to get it back again. In order to close or change the spread I had out, I had to close the entire program from my tool bar and start all over again. Luckily, I wasnt inputting any info that I may have lost otherwise, I think. It's hard to describe, I hope I am being clear.
Can anyone tell me what I did wrong or how to get the deal deck back again when the background isnt showing?
Thanks in advance
Golden Hoops

How make opening card reappear when background not shown?
Hi Hoops,
I think I know what you mean. I guess you know that when the deck is parked in the little square you can make it reappear again by clicking the square. So I assume you mean you were left with the cards but no deck, and no amount of clicking on the square would bring it back.
If so that is definitely a bug, but I haven't been able to repeat it. I have been trying various combinations of parking the deck, going into and out of the Tarot Zone, hiding and showing the background etc and the deck has stayed with me. Would it be possible for you to recall the exact sequence of things you did that led to the deck disappearing? I know that is a tall order, but without having something I can repeat I can't really get anywhere towards fixing it.
On the subject of parking the deck, for the benefit of anyone who may not have realised it, you don't have to activate this feature. There is a check box on the Program(1) tab of the Options form labelled Always allow parking of the deck. You can deactivate the feature by unchecking this.
Cheers
Richard

How make opening card reappear when background not shown?
Thanks so much! I left the Always allow parking of the deck box blank and now when I make the background disappear, the command deck stays up and doesnt disappear into the gray box- which, just a note to say- the gray box also disappears when I dont show the background. I got it now :)

Richard, I have one question in relation to this.
If you go into the Program Settings and take off the option Always allow parking of the deck I run into a problem. I have my deck auto park when I go to the Tarot Zone, so when I come out of the Tarot Zone, my deck is gone (because the grey parking box is hidden). I can get it back by going and turning back on the parking option.
Is this a bug or is that intentional? I'd think that if the deck was parked, it would auto-show, then when unparked the box would hide again.

Hi Lethann,
Try clicking in the area where the box would be. If you move your mouse across the area it will turn into a pointing finger click and bam! the deck is back :o)
Shari
p.s.: I am using the beta so if that doesn't work try the beta .-)

Thanks WebWeaver!
Works in the regular version too!
However, I'm having the same bugs that Golden Hoops is having with the hidden background. Here are the steps to reproduce it:
1) Load up OT
2) Make sure you have the option to Always allow Parking turned ON.
3) Deal a few cards and move to the side, away from the parking square
4) Right click on main deck and uncheck Show Background. Background and frame will disappear, per normal, but the grey parking box also disappears.
5) pick up the main deck, drag over to where parking box normally is.
6) Watch the deck disappear and no way to turn the background back on to show the parking square because any attempt at clicking the square simply clicks the desktop or whatever window you have open underneath OT. (unless there is some shortcut key to toggle the background I don't know about.) The systemtray icon is still there, allowing you to restore or close, but no option to turn on the background.
--fix if your deck disappears--
7) Right click on System Tray icon and restore. (to make sure you are actually in OT)
8) hit f9 and go into the program options, make sure it has autoload background when program loads (or whatever it's called), and save the settings.
9) hit esc to close the program
10) restart OT and everything is fine.
I think one way to rectify this is to have a simple toggle so that if a deck is parked in the square, the square is visible, even if the always allow parking option is turned off or the background is hidden.
If you want screenies, I can take a few. I've replicated this multiple times so let me know if you can't duplicate it.

Try this...
Do the restore thingy. F2, and then click hide and you should see your deck again.

How make opening card reappear when background not shown?
Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the comments on this thread. There is obviously a bit of bad design here. For one thing, it should not be possible to park the deck when the background is invisible. I will go through all this carefully and try to fix any issues in the next beta, which should be out later this weekend. I will post here when it is.
Cheers
