Scorp, it sounds like a great suggestion to me. If you could undertake to co-ordinate this process that would certainly avoid a lot of duplicated effort.

You know I have also come to the conclusion that we do need to have a Deck Exchange administrator or two. I know that people have been telling me this for ages and I have kept sticking my head in the sand (because I know it will be a bit of extra work for me). But I do agree this is going to be necessary so I will see what can be done...

Cheers

Amen to what I just said...I just downloaded the fantastic Eatpoo Tarot Revised (2) and saw that there was something just a tiny bit cock-eyed about it - the pack info says there are 118 cards in the deck when really there are only 60. You try to use it and the program keeps telling you that it has a problem displaying card 107 or whatever. It doesn't work right until you set the value properly in the options form. OK, OK, we will get OTZ administrators established and they can mend this sort of thing as and when they get a moment :)

Re: LWB Notes on The Herbal Tarot

Post by Barb »

I started on this project and realised the LWB that was in the deck I purchased was stuck together. I did my best to get it loose, but the LWB suffered great damage.
A very sweet guy is sending me one, so I can get it started by next weekend! I really like the Herbs used for different cards.
I promise to start on this and have it done! When its done, I will have it posted on here and uploaded to the carddata file!

Hi Richard,

welcome back .-)

I am happy to help where ever I can. A load shared is a load halved.

What would be really neat is an extra column in the deck exchange that indicates whether or not there is a carddata.xml file.

And/or it would be good if we could edit our posts. Because that way, we could post a list of decks that don't have carddata.xml files, and allocate the jobs out to those willing to help out. If I could edit the post, then I could write names next to the deck (so we know the job is in progress) and then once completed and uploaded, we could edit the post to delete that deck from the outstanding carddata.xml file list.

What do you think? Is something like that possible to help me coordinate the process?

Regards

Hi Scorp,

It would be possible to do something towards indicating whether there is a card data file, but you couldn't download the information all in one go. It would have to be a case of getting a preview of the deck, and then when you get the preview it could indicate whether or not their was card data.

Editing posts is a bit trickier. How about if you start a thread that is dedicated just to lists, and use it to publish the updated list every so often?

Hi Richard,

What would be your time frame for the carddata.xml indicator? Is there an easier way that you can do something, short term, behind the scenes (like print a list of decks and the size of the carddata.xml files which might indicate if they contain notes or not)???

Where would I put this new thread? In the Decks section of the forum? My concern with starting a new thread to keep track of carddata.xml files and putting it in the deck section is that it would be buried each time a new thread is created. Would you consider starting a new forum section just for the carddata.xml files? I think it would be a lot easier to manage that way. I could create a master thread that says which files we are missing, and then people could open their own individual threads to say which one they are working on....with their progress....

What do you think?

regards

Hi Scorp,

Printing out the list would be difficult because the files are obviously all contained in the zips, and I only have remote access to the server. Adding the new forum topic should be straightforward, I ought definitely to be able to do that this weekend. I will try and do the indicator too - maybe have something ready by late Sunday. It is great that there is so much enthusiasm for this all round, so I would hate to be the one who gets in the way of it happening!

Cheers

Found Enochian Tarot so nice that I have started to put in cardnotes.
I only manage those given in the booklet. If anyone will make a bigger project please say so:)
