Beta 6.5 Readings

Post by Georgia »

I just downloaded the Beta 6.5. I used the Readings to print out and study and it was really easy to copy the entire reading and paste into a Word document to be emailed to someone who doesn't have your program. I can't see how to do that now.

I also like to switch decks to see what the spread looks like in a different deck for the same reading. I was able to save each of these in the same reading notes in the old system so that I could print out and compare the differences between the cards.

I like some of the changes you made, but I'd really like to see the old system as well as the new. Maybe a way to wrap it all up - perhaps use the new reading management system, then be able to pull the saved reading into the old style after all of the notes have been made so you can print, email, or copy it into a Word document.

Just my thoughts.

Hi Georgia

Thanks for reminding me about that - I meant to put the word export back in from the outset, but it had slipped my mind. I will get on to it now :)

Hi Georgia

Just to say I uploaded the latest cut of the beta in the last hour - it brings back the RTF option as an alternative/complimentary approach to saving readings as you suggested. I originally meant to bring it back as a simple export option with all formatting done externally, but it makes complete sense to allow both approaches.

You will see that you can load it directly from the main menu, where it now appears on the My Readings submenu (or Shift + F3 if you like using your keyboard) or via the Reading Wizard. It can copy notes and images either from the cards that are out, or from the notes you might have edited in the Wizard.

Cheers
Richard
