Show Background Confused After Leaving OTZ?

I don't know if this is a glitch or by design, but I know I'm confused. (My normal state of affairs, so nothing new there... )

My default is to have Show Background turned off. When I start up the program, I see the pack of cards on my desktop. That's just my preference.

When I open the Orphalese Tarot Zone, my desktop is covered by the Zone. If I right-click on my pack, I see that Show Background has be turned on. So far, so good.

When I close OTZ, however, I just have a solid grey background. If I look, Show Background has supposedly been turned off again, but I can't see the desktop. Turning it on (no visible change) and then off again restores the desktop, but it seems like that should be unnecessary.

This is a very small issue, obviously, so if it *is* a bug, please don't feel the need to hurry and fix it. It can easily wait for a larger release, in my opinion.

Hi Cowhead, I just tried it and I have the same thing happen. This is good news because it makes it much easier to track down what is going wrong. I will try and get a fix into the next update. Thanks!

I've told Richard already about something funny related with backgrounds I'm experiencing these days. I used to work with Orphalese like Cowhead described, but I switched to fullscreen Show Background and everything went fine. From some days ago, when I access OTZ, the browser window does not appear. Tampered yesterday with Show Background and Full Screen commands, and it went to normal. But this morning happened again. Same solution: turn off background and fullscreen, some clicks on options, and it was back. Dunno if other users are experiencing the same, but AFAIK, this was not program's behaviour. Not a major bug nor an urgent one, anyway. Best.

I have seen some similar behaviors -- however I seem to have a different bit of confusion that is probably mine --

I would like OT to remember the state of the show background selection between invocations of the program. Sometimes I like to have the background, more often, I'd rather just have it be my regular desktop. OT always seems to have show background selected anytime I start.

Is this design, user error or a new feature request?

Hi Rog,

You should check you haven't got Always show background at launch selected on the program tab in the General Settings part of the option form.
