Anyone have the LWB for Margarete Petersen deck?

Post by Zula »

I love the Margarete Petersen deck but it's hard to interpret w/o the LWB. If someone who has this deck would agree to mail me the LWB (English version) or a copy, I would type it up and post the notes as a XML file for everyone to download.

Hi Sue. I love this deck too! It has possibly my favorite ever Fool card, and definitely my favorite Death card.

I don't know for certain, but I *believe* this is an unpublished deck, so there probably isn't a LWB. Hope I'm wrong about that!

Cheers,

It is published, both in German and English, and is available from Tarot Garden for $45. Someone here must have it!

Hallo Cowhead,

I have only the german version of the LWB (which is indeed a little book) so I guess that won't be of any help for you. But before the time of the release of the english version at Aeclectic was a study group for the Margerete Petersen deck where people had translated the german LWB. I don't think that they where going through all cards. But this could at least be a starting point for you. Do an advanced search in the study group forum of Aeclectic with Petersen and you will find the threads.

And BTW, typing a LWB is a lot of work. If you have a scanner you should look for a program like OmniPage. This is a document conversion program that does the typing for you. You only have to scan the text. .-)

Thank you for this good information, Katrin. I plan to order the deck from Tarot Garden in a day or two, so I should have the LWB to work from. If that doesn't work out, though, I'll investigate the Aeclectic group. Thanks again!

FYI - I ordered the Margarete Petersen deck a few days ago. I'm hoping it will be delivered in a week or so. I will probably not convert the whole book to card notes, but I plan to at least summarize main interpretation points for each card. I'll be changing some card titles too, apparently!

I'm really looking forward to seeing the notes. This is one deck where you need the LWB to know what the artist was thinking. Thanks!

I have the Margarete Petersen deck!

My copy of the Margarete Petersen deck was delivered yesterday. I haven't had much time to delve into the book -- this is no LWB -- but I can tell you this: The deck itself is beautiful. I already knew I loved the images, so I was happy to see the very high quality of the printed deck. The cards are big and sturdy, and the print quality is excellent with beautiful color reproduction. Even the box is above average. It's a top-notch production all around, as this deck deserves.

I'm glad to hear the deck is so nice. It's at the top of my wish list. I'm looking forward to seeing the notes that you end up posting for it.
