Unicode Support

Post by veryveryvery123 »

Hi, one of the primary deck I use is the Tao Oracle Deck.
As it is heavily related to I Ching I would like to include the original Chinese text for my readings.

Will the program accept special characters in CardData.xml in future? Thanks.

I just tried it and it let me. Did you try it and get an error or did it just not save?

Thanks for the quick reply, you are awesome (H)
I have to admit that I am on the old version 9.4.2.1
萃,亨,王假有廟。利見大人,亨,利貞,用大牲吉,利有攸往。
(came from here: http://www.eee-learning.com/simple64/45)
The above was saved perfectly and reopens alright in notepad/dreamweaver.
As I tried to load the deck in Orphalese it says:
There was a problem loading the card data: OpenXMLFile: Invalid character in the given encoding. Line X, position X.
so V10 takes special characters? Thanks! :D

Apparently so, I just edited some card notes using that text and there was no such error. Last year I basically rewrote how the card data works so I might well have modernized the encoding without even making a point of it. The next thing would be to try the upgrade and see if it works. 实践是检验真理的唯一标准! ;)
